28 Nov 2004 - Latest school grading: We are an A grade school again!

At this time of year the Department for Education grade schools according to results at Key Stage 2.

Since 2001, compared nationally with similar schools, we have been graded as A or A*. Incredibly we have been awarded a similar grade again this year.

The judgements included:

The performance of pupils in ALL core subjects is well above the national median for the age group; the performance of pupils in Science is well above the national median; the performance in English is well above the national median; the performance in Mathematics is VERY HIGH in comparison with the national median for the age group.

We expect results to be lower in the next couple of years, but it is good to know that, overall, we are high in the top 20% of schools. In Maths we were awarded an A* so we are within the top 5% of schools nationally.

Standards in KS1 continue to rise and here we have also been graded A overall, with A* for Reading.
