7 Aug 2003 - Top 5 Assembly songs and choruses

Each year all the children vote on their favourite hymns, songs or choruses sung in our daily Assembly.

The Summer 2003 results were:
1. The Wa Wa Song
2. Mr. Cow
3. The Flintstones chorus
4. Great, great, brill,brill
5. We have a king who rides a donkey

The Flintstones chorus has been within the top 5 for each of the last 10 years! This song uses the Flintstones tune to the words of:
Jesus, Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me, loves me this I know,
For the, for the Bible
For the Bible Bible tells me so..

For those who don't know the Wa Wa song (this years number 1)it comes from Kid's Praise. These are the lyrics:

I'm gonna walk, wa wa
Sing la-la
Shout and clap my hands
Until (clap clap) Jesus Christ comes again
Wo-oh-oh yeh!

I know I have a friend
Who lives inside of me
And everytime I call on Him
I walk in victory

On days when trials come
And my heart goes yipperdy ying
I'm glad for Jesus Christ
And that He taught me how to sing

And now I'm full of joy
I'm living in His promised land
I'm gonna shout out loud
I'm really gonna clap my hands

Children seem to enjoy our school assemblies!

HOWEVER - last Autumn Term the most popular chorus seems to be:

I want to be a tree that's bearing fruit....

Ideal for Harvest Festivals!

Why not sing along with the FLINTSTONES? Click on the midi file (below) - the words are above. You might also enjoy the midi file for I'm inright, outright, upright, downright, happy all the times, another very popular assembly chorus at our school.
