School Assemblies
School Assemblies are in important part of each school day. Each day commences with an act of worship either led by school staff or visiting church leaders.A number of Year 3 and 4 children wrote about one of these:
Captain Doug came to Friday's assembly. He taught us a hymn and it was like this: In right out right up right down right happy all day through. Then he brought a puzzle out. There were lots of children who wanted to put the puzzle together. In the end Naomi and Stephanie had a competition, how to do the puzzle the quickest. But on Steph's there was a piece missing. That piece was the most important, Jesus.
The cornet players played Upidee and it was excellent!
There are three stamp cards. The people who had finished are Jade in class1; Josh in class 2 and James in class 2 as well.
Captain Doug?s Assembly was excellent!

Captain Doug from the Salvation Army came to take the assembly. First we sang him the Wa Wa song then he taught us a song which went 'I'm in right out right up right down right happy through and through'. We went on to sing about Jesus. We were taught the actions.
After the song we had a puzzle competition. I did the puzzle in 18 seconds, it had four pieces. The final was between Naomi and Stephanie. Stephanie won but on her third try Jesus was missing from the puzzle and Captain Doug explained how people felt empty when they didn't have him inside of us.
Then the cornet group played Upidee and Good King Wenceslas (even though it wasn't Christmas). Then he gave out some stamp cards.
