Swimbridge has a fantastic, community based pre-school where the emphasis is on learning through fun and is a great start for children, preparing them for their first years at school. The Pre-school offers a varied and well structured programme of activities designed to meet the Early Learning Goals and has a lovely family feel where children are made to feel welcome and valued. We provide a happy, colourful, safe and stimulating environment for learning through play and social interaction, recognising right from wrong, developing independence and building self confidence.
Two qualified members of staff run each session along with a voluntary parent helper. Parent help is done on a rota basis so parents can be involved with their children’s learning at pre-school.
The pre-school runs five mornings a week for 3-5 year olds from 9am – 11.30am, with an optional lunch club on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11.30am – 12.30pm. From the term after their 3rd birthday children are eligible for free funding.
Twice each half term we visit the Reception class at Swimbridge Primary School to undertake shared activities and use the outside space. This allows the children to become familiar with a school environment and makes the transition from pre-school to school a smooth one.
